This paper recommends a pathway for India to arrive at a new modus vivendi in its relationship with China. It argues that volatility is likely to be the norm in the India-China dyad owing to certain structural factors. However, it is in the interest of both sides to ensure a certain amount of stability and predictability in the relationship.
