In 2025, the CSIS Freeman Chair convened an international task force on Taiwan and the Global South. Over the course of the year, members evaluated the state of Taiwan’s relationships in the Global South, opportunities to expand engagement, and Global South perspectives on cross-Strait issues. This effort culminated in the new report Understanding Global South Perspectives on Taiwan.
Join the CSIS Freeman Chair in China Studies for this online event, in which task force members reflect on the report's findings, discussing opportunities for Taiwan to enhance engagement with Global South countries and exploring Global South perspectives on questions of peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait.
